New Stafford library offers wireless printing from netloan
Staff at the new library in Stafford offered customers a new wireless printing service when they opened their doors for the first time on Wednesday. The netloan Wi-Fi print self-service facility from Lorensbergs makes it possible for library users to print from their mobiles, laptops and tablets while visiting the library. The demand for such a service follows the steep rise in smartphone and tablet use for accessing the internet and the subsequent need to print out documents and images from these devices. It provides a completely new public service for the residents of Stafford and one which has pleased library users as being a valuable addition to their library’s services.
Staff report that the new service is a good fit with other new facilities in the library. These include an Innovation Suite with new technologies to support the government’s digital agenda, promote learning and creativity, and provide important resources to boost local enterprise and support new business ideas. The ability to print from users’ own devices is an important aspect in helping to turn ideas into reality.
Anna Crilly, Lorensbergs’ Managing Director, says: “We’ve listened to our library customers and know that wireless printing plays an important role in their digital strategy. Its introduction helps keep library services relevant and compelling to users. It’s exciting now to see netloan Wi-Fi print in action at Stafford Library and the great reception it’s had from both staff and end users.”
Lucy Wells, ICT Project Manager from Staffordshire County Council says: “Stafford Library is a new innovative environment for people of all ages and Wi-Fi printing is a central element of our Digital Offering. It allows members of the public to bring in their own devices to print. It’s quick, convenient and easy to use.”
