before netloan
Originally we used manual based systems within the Learning Centre which were time consuming and prone to mistakes. We were also unable to tell which students were using the PCs and how long for, some students would use them all day.
A main trigger for purchasing an ebooking solution was ‘fair access to all’, as we would turn away students and not be able to tell them when we would next have a PC available.
We researched the packages available and netloan education offered the best value and worked well with other systems such as the LMS. lorensbergs offered an excellent support package and potential for development.
installation
From the decision being made to installing the software was a speedy process. A lorensbergs representative from Technical Support visited and the installation took place over the summer holidays to enable students to pick it up upon their return in September.
Everything went smoothly and the system is now in use over two sites covering 105 PCs in total. Our Account Manager recently visited and spoke to all staff to see how the system had benefited us and how taken the staff were with it.

Plans for the future
We have the flexibility to choose whether to use a dedicated PC as a kiosk and are finding out about additional modules for netloan education and ways in which the system can be enhanced.
