For those attending the Public and Mobile Libraries Group (PMLG) conference on Friday and Saturday this week, there’s a wonderful opportunity to have a guided tour of the new Stafford Library. Lorensbergs were excited to be there a month ago on the first day of opening, not least because Staffordshire Libraries are the first of our customers to go live with the new netloan Wi-Fi print service. This enables everyone to print from their own devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops, while visiting the library.
The ability to print wirelessly is an important part of Stafford Library’s digital offer, which includes an impressive innovation suite, 3D printers, digitables, tablets, giant touchscreens and thousands of e-books. It’s in tune with the Government’s digital agenda in promoting digital literacy, while supporting new enterprise and local businesses in equal measure.
As well as participating in the library tour, Lorensbergs will be exhibiting at the PMLG conference - which focuses on the health, social and economic aspects of how libraries contribute to a better and stronger society. We are also delighted to be sponsoring the Public Librarian of the Year award which will be presented on Saturday. Please stop by our stand while at the conference and we’ll be happy to share with you the latest news regarding our netloan portfolio of library software.
