connect2 FAQs
What is connect2?
A customer's guide… connect2 is an ebooking solution that enables customers to make advanced bookings for resources, events and services that your company may offer. Dependent on the organisation, this may be done via the company website, intranet or a member of staff.
How do I book a resource or my place on an event using connect2?
Online
Customers can often make a booking online via the website or intranet. To do this, you may need a username and password. Wizard pages will guide you through the booking process making it very simple to use.
Staff
Bookings can often be made through a member of staff, either in person or over the phone.
Will I get a booking confirmation?
Once a booking has been made you will get a confirmation email containing the details of your booking. Dependent on the set up at the company, you may also get email notifications ahead of and after your booking.
How long can I book a resource for?
Once in connect2, you will see the resource availability screen. It shows you a calendar for the current week and shows you availability and the bookings that currently exist for that resource. Usage allowance differs so check out the company’s website for more information.
How far in advance can I make a booking?
Again this depends on the organisation. You may be able to make a booking a year in advance or one that begins in 5 minutes time!
Can I make recurring bookings?
You may be able to make recurring bookings, but again this depends on the organisations's policy. If you are able to make a recurring booking, you will see a 'recur' button that allows you to easily make the recurring booking.
What happens when I turn up for my booking?
If you have booked a room and you know where it is located, go straight there – some companies may require you to record that you have arrived for your booking.
If you have booked an appointment or meeting with a member of staff, make your way to your meeting place.
If you have booked a physical resource that requires you to pick up an item, you may need to visit the collection desk, who will allow you to check the item out. You will need to return the item and check it back in when you're booking has finished.
If you have booked your place on an event or course, make your way to the relevant location.
What will happen if I arrive late for my booking?
Once booked, a resource/appointment time/space on an event etc will not be available for other customers to book. Dependant on each organisation's chosen setup, if you have booked a physical resource that requires you to pick up the item and check it out, it will remain booked for a set number of minutes beyond the booking start time. If you do not arrive for your booking, it will be automatically cancelled in connect2 and will be available to other customers.
Can I search for my bookings?
As a customer, you can search for bookings made by you. You can search all bookings in the future or just within a certain interval. A booking that is currently running will be counted as a future reservation.
Can I cancel or edit a booking if I need to?
This is also dependant on the organisation's set up. If they have enabled this option, you can edit or cancel the booking yourself by visiting your online connect2 homepage. You can view a list of all the bookings you have made and select the booking you wish to edit or cancel. You will have the option to edit/cancel the booking and will be sent a confirmation. Alternatively, you can contact a member of staff to do this for you.
Will I be able to make a booking if I have outstanding fines to pay?
Unfortunately you will not be able to make a booking if you have outstanding fines to pay. Each company will have their own policy on whether you will be able to login to connect2 if you have fines to pay.
